Refactor in two ways. First, expose members without getters as we will
need most of them in distributed. And this was always the sensible thing
to do. Second, add storage type values to deltas. This is also a
sensible thing to do, and it will be very beneficial in distributed. We

With this patch the number of packets for a simple RPC call is lowered
from 22 to 12 (45% reduction). The number of packets for the Bolt protocol
is lowered from 26 to 18 (30% reduction).
Impact on the Bolt protocol will be a constant of ~ 8 packets less per
connection, while the impact on the RPC protocol will be approximately
a 45% reduction overall.

With the added support for serialization, we should be able to transfer
plans across distributed workers.
The planner tests has been extended to test serialization. Operators
should be mostly tested, but the expression they contain aren't
completely. The quick solution is to use typeid for rudimentary
expression equality testing. The more involved solution of comparing
the expression tree for equality is the correct choice. It should be
done in the near future.

A slight insanity here... I realized I will need to create
`GraphDbAccessor` instance (which need `&GraphDb`) within some members
of `::impl` classes. Within those classes I can pass `this` to those
members, if `this` is a valid `GraphDb`. Semantically it really is (at
the moment), but heirarchically it wasn't. This diff changes that.
`GraphDb` is now only an interface. `PublicBase` is the base for all
the public classes, `PrivateBase` for the `::impl` classes. Seems to
work.
Oh yes, another thing to keep in mind when doing this is that I should avoid
calling virtual functions in public classes (the motivation for the double
heirarchy). Before this diff the getters weren't virtual, now they are, so
I should have made all the appropriate changes in code as well.

Close the file descriptor in File destructor. This will prevent
accidental crashes during unexpected destructor calls. For example, if
an exception is thrown before the file is closed. File now takes
ownership of the descriptor. These changes now honor RAII idiom, which
should handle most of the peculiarities of C++.
Use optional value for TryOpenFile function, instead of returning a File
without a descriptor. It makes the failure state more semantically clear
to the API user.

The files aren't that big, and the naming is a bit confusing because
functions aren't really grouped for file and filesystem distinction.

GraphDb is refactored to become an API exposing different parts
necessary for the database to function. These different parts can have
different implementations in SingleNode or distributed Master/Server
GraphDb implementations.
Interally GraphDb is implemented using two class heirarchies. One
contains all the members and correct wiring for each situation. The
other takes care of initialization and shutdown. This architecture is
practical because it can guarantee that the initialization of the
object structure is complete, before initializing state.

This is a proposal on how the WAL recovery process can be implemented so
that Deltas aren't accumulated, but instead applied in the same order
they are written to the WAL.
I *believe* that the only additional requirement on the system are
atomic transaction Begin/Commit/Abort. By atomic I mean that they are
present in the WAL in exactly the same ordering like in the transaciton
engine, to ensure the same commitability of original and recovery
transactions.
This could be a requirement for HA recovery. It is desirable that WAL
and HA log become the same thing, and the recovery process too.

Although the first solution used cereal, the final implementation uses
boost. Since the cereal is still used in the codebase, compilation has
been modified to support multithreaded cereal.
In addition to serializing Ast classes, the following also needed to be
serialized:
* GraphDbTypes
* Symbol
* TypedValue
TypedValue is treated specially, by inlining the serialization code in
the Ast class, concretely PrimitiveLiteral.
Another special case was the Function Ast class, which now stores a
function name which is resolved to a concrete std::function on
construction.

Summary:
Memgraph's executable target is unnecessarily complicated by having a
name which depends on the commit hash and build type. It is now renamed
to simply 'memgraph', while the executable output uses the encoding of
commit hash and build type as the name. This simplifies the dependency
handling in cmake, where now the full path to the executable can be
easily obtained by using the generator expression:
`$<TARGET_FILE:memgraph>`.
In addition to the above simplification, memgraph_link_target is now
replaced with a post build step on memgraph target itself. This
guarantees that the symlink always exists after building the executable,
as well as simplify the make invocation. The invocation now boils down
to `make memgraph` instead of `make memgraph_link_target`.

Split main CMakeLists into src/CMakeLists
The main CMakeLists duty is to make all the required libraries and
variables visible to all of the other sub-CMakeLists. After doing that,
it should include those sub-CMakeLists according to configuration
options.
This should make global configurations easier to reuse without polluting
the global space with locally related configurations. It is a necessary
step for including other projects like 'tools' in the release
installation.
Building tools is automatically disabled, but can be enabled by setting
the TOOLS option to ON when running cmake. This should allow on demand
building as well as combined installation of Memgraph and its tools.

This change generates multiple PropertyFilters for expressions such as
`n.prop1 = m.prop2`. When choosing one PropertyFilter, we want to also
remove the other one, because they represent the same original
expression. Therefore, the removal is no longer based on FilterInfo
equality, but on the original expression equality. Additionally,
FilterInfo and PropertyFilter equality operators have been removed to
avoid any pretense they do what you expect or want.

Summary:
Add postinst script for DEB package
The script creates a 'memgraph' group and sets permission on installed
'/var/*/memgraph' directories. Only the group is created, while
'memgraph' user is not. It seems more sane only to require group
membership for using memgraph.
Add conffiles for DEB package
This allows for `dpkg` to detect changes in configuration files and
present them to the user. Therefore, we don't need to care whether the
configuration merges are handled correctly nor if we accidentally
overwrite them.
Add postrm script for DEB packaging
The script is only used so that `dpkg --purge` removes '/var/*/memgraph'
directories, even if they contain something.
Add email, longer description and license file to DEB packaging, as well
as a systemd service.
Provide a logrotate configuration and support it in memgraph.
Use DEB package for Docker installation
This way, the whole installation process and testing should go through
DEB.

My dear fellow Memgraphians. It's friday afternoon, and I am as ready to pop as WAL is to get reviewed...
What's done:
- Vertices and Edges have global IDs, stored in `VersionList`. Main storage is now a concurrent map ID->vlist_ptr.
- WriteAheadLog class added. It's based around buffering WAL::Op objects (elementraly DB changes) and periodically serializing and flusing them to disk.
- Snapshot recovery refactored, WAL recovery added. Snapshot format changed again to include necessary info.
- Durability testing completely reworked.
What's not done (and should be when we decide how):
- Old WAL file purging.
- Config refactor (naming and organization). Will do when we discuss what we want.
- Changelog and new feature documentation (both depending on the point above).
- Better error handling and recovery feedback. Currently it's all returning bools, which is not fine-grained enough (neither for errors nor partial successes, also EOF is reported as a failure at the moment).
- Moving the implementation of WAL stuff to .cpp where possible.
- Not sure if there are transactions being created outside of `GraphDbAccessor` and it's `BuildIndex`. Need to look into.
- True write-ahead logic (flag controlled): not committing a DB transaction if the WAL has not flushed it's data. We can discuss the gain/effort ratio for this feature.

Summary:
We need to explicitly say that UNION clause isn't supported, otherwise
it gets silently ignored. So for example, `CREATE () UNION CREATE ()`
would create 2 nodes without a hitch. On the other hand,
`RETURN 1 UNION RETURN 2` would complain that there is more than 1
RETURN in the query, which was misleading.

This is an attempt at solving circular dependencies happening in WAL implementation. The cycle is:
BaseEncoder -> GraphDbAccessor -> GraphDb -> WAL -> BaseEncoder.
The cycle will be broken by this diff because the WAL only needs primitive encoding and will be able to use `PrimitiveEncoder` only.
This fix is not ideal, since the BaseEncoder -> GraphDbAccessor dependency is very unnatural. This could probably be fixes properly with a refactor of GraphDb/GraphDbAccessor that is in the post, but that takes time and this fix is not very dirty, more of an added complication.

As part of planned planner refactor we should ensure that a filter is applied only once. The current implementation is very suboptimal for property filtering in variable expansions.
@buda: we will start refactoring this these days. This current planner logic is too dense and complex. It is becoming technical debt. Most of the time I spent working on this has been spent figuring the planning out, and I still needed Teon's help at times. Implementing the correct and optimal version of query execution (avoiding multiple potentially expensive filterings) was out of reach also due to tech debt.

I started with cleaning flags up (removing unused ones, documenting undocumented ones). There were some flags to remove in `QueryEngine`. Seeing how we never use hardcoded queries (AFAIK last Mislav's testing also indicated they aren't faster then interpretation), when removing those unused flags the `QueryEngine` becomes obsolete. That means that a bunch of other stuff becomes obsolete, along with the hardcoded queries. So I removed it all (this has been discussed and approved on the daily).
Some flags that were previously undocumented in `docs/user_technical/installation` are now documented. The following flags are NOT documented and in my opinion should not be displayed when starting `./memgraph --help` (@mferencevic):

Antlr grammar has been updated to support putting edge types after the BFS
symbol. Planner collects edge type filters for BFS and inlines them in the
operator by joining the filter with the user input BFS filter itself. This
requires no change from the standpoint of the operator. On the other hand, in
order to use the faster lookup by a single edge type, `ExpandBreadthFirst`
operator now accept an optional edge type. The edge type is passed from the
planner only if the user is filtering by a single type.

Old code: ~2.5 seconds per index
New code: ~1.5 seconds per index
When building an index for a non-existing label the updated code is done immediately. The old code depends on the number of vertices in the database.
The new code *could* be slower when building an index for a label that has a lot of vertices, and the index is not garbage collected recently and contains a lot of junk. This can be avoided by a simple check in the `BuildIndex` function (if label_index cardinality > total cardinality), if you like.

Now all ScanAll and Expand ops are covered by the cost estimator. For ScanAll with indices cost estimation is pretty good, for new Expand ops it is tragically bad (Expand to the power of expansion depth, plus arbitrary filtering). Static cost estimation is wrong wrong wrong.
Currently cost estimation of even trivial plans that use indices is wrong because the planner leaves filtering expressions that are implicitly handled by the index in the operator tree, IIRC. Tasking Teon to revise this, even though I'm not sure how bad an influence this has on cost estimation and it's use in plan choosing.

This diff contains a bug fix for the expansion operators that are currently on dev.
More importantly, it proposes end-to-end testing for edge-cases for which it's a
pain to write single-phase tests. In my opinion this is OK, you're all reviewers so

The test relies on left-to-right query execution. We need this guarantee in tests
like this. I propose renaming "RuleBasedPlanner" to "LeftToRightPlanner" to make
this explicit. As Teon is not here at the moment, will make this a task/discussion.

Relation operators (e.g. `<`, `>` ...) should be used to produce
scanning the index by a range of values. For that reason, PropertyFilter
is extended to store either the equality expression or range bounds.

see if their top level expression contains a property lookup. If it
does, a filter with a bound is generated.

This operator uses the label + property indexing feature to iterate over
the vertices. The property value of each vertex is checked whether it is
inside the given range of values. The range is inclusive from both
sides. If the value isn't in range, the vertex is filtered out.
This manual filtering should be replaced by a database API when it
becomes available.

Summary: There was a big performance hit induced when removing consecutive nodes from the concurrent list. The reason why it was happening is that the iterator has a pointer to previous node, and uses that pointer to re-link the whole list after the deletion. That node wasn't alive because it was deleted earlier and was always being updated to the next deleted entry in the list while incrementing the iterator. This behaviour caused find_and_disconnect method to be invoked, which has an O(n) complexity. That made our removal of O(n) entries from the list run in O(n^2) time, which is obviously slow.

There were a couple of issues with handling the above 2 signals.
1) Calling `std::exit` from a signal handler is undefined behaviour.
The only defined way for a signal handler to stop the program is calling
one of: `std::_Exit`, `std::abort` or `std::quick_exit`. Neither of them
will completely clean the resources, so a clean exit is not possible.
Since SIGSEGV and SIGABRT happen in extraordinary circumstances that we
wish to debug 99% of the time, it makes sense to generate a core dump
which can be inspected by a debugger. Of the 3 termination functions,
only `std::abort` will generate a core dump, so it makes sense to use
that to stop the program.
Also, since we are now aborting as is the default behaviour on SIGSEGV
and SIGABRT, it becomes questionable why have a custom handler at all.
2) Raising an exception inside a signal handler is undefined behaviour
Although the handler by itself does not raise an exception, it is
possible for the logging facility to raise one. This is a real case when
logging a stack trace in particular. Stack trace is generated by
creating a string "<function name> <line location>". It is possible that
a function name will contain '{}' somewhere inside. This is usually the
case with anonymous functions. The generated string is then passed to
logging, which uses the `fmt` library to fill '{}' with remaining
arguments. Since only a single argument (the stack trace string) is
passed for formatting, naturally the `fmt::format` throws an exception,
that it is missing a format argument.
We could provide an overload which takes a single string, but that
defeats the purpose of `fmt::format` raising an exception in regular
code if we forget to pass an argument. Another solution is to escape the
whole stack trace string, so it is valid for formatting, but this only
complicates the handler even further. The simplest solution is to send
the stack trace to `stderr` and avoid logging altogether.

When running tck tests there was a peculiar behavior where sometimes some queries worked, and sometimes they failed. Nothing was failing when memgraph was restarted between each query (scenario) - which points to MATCH DETACH DELETE not working correctly.
What was happening is the following: some transaction would update the record in version list and set it's expiry to it's id. Along with that some transaction would query the mentioned record - and would set the hints flags for that expiration transaction status (which was aborted - which is fine at this moment). After some while, because the record is not really deleted because it's not aborted some other transaction would modify it's expiry transaction (this time making the transaction commited), but because the hints flags were not updated - they would still return the status for the old transaction - which was aborted. This made some records available even though they were deleted.

Gradicek's Mvcc test have seen the following changes:
- provided a test infrastructure (fixture and macros) to facilitate testing and increase readability
- split tests into multi-transaction update, VersionList::find and general Mvcc testing
- multi-transaction update tests have been refactored (i *think* nothing got deleted, but it was a mess so I don't guarantee)
- changed all multithreaded tests to be single-threaded because multiple threads were not necessary
- changed transaction naming from T5, T8, T10 to T1, T2... for consistency with actual transaction indices
What still needs to be done:
- Gleich and Gradicek need to review the infrastructure (possible improvements)
- multi-transaction update tests need to be addressed by Gradicek (see "TODO gradicek" in code, discuss with Flor)
- the wiki/draw.io documentation needs to be updated. it is not imperative that all the tests be drawn in draw.io, only the general infrastructure explained. perhaps only a few examples drawn. Gradicek discuss with Flor

The reason for that is a bug in skiplist implementation.
Skiplist method find_or_larger was never ending and would continuously stay in the while loop because the next node (with the queried value) onto which it would try to jump would be marked as deleted and that would stop it from jumping on it, or ending on that node.

The GraphDbAccessor and KeyIndex APIs can now also return records for the current transaction+command graph state. This is necessary to correctly implement MERGE. The new logic is has increased the MVCC+Accessor related chaos and should be revised when refactoring MVCC (as planned).
Previous index testing was separated into VertexIndex and EdgeIndex testing. This is inappropriate since most of the logic is exaclty the same. Also it was not clearly defined what gets tested via the GraphDbAccessor API, and what directly through the KeyIndex API. This has also been refactored, but it needs additional work (Gleich).

The rest of core engine exceptions are extended from the BasicException (because of the error handling in the communication stack). Maximum value of the MVCC command id is calculated in the compile time.
I've put the tasks to implement concurrent tests in the qa repo in the backlog. Hopefully they will be implemented within this sprint.

Also, inherit `TypedValueException` from `BasicException` instead of
`StacktraceException`.
This is meant as a basic API change, so that catching query exceptions becomes
simpler. The error message can be obtained from `what` method, inherited from
`BasicException`. In the future, we may extend the `QueryException`. It could
take column/row position in query source, as well as other information. Then
provide (or override `what`) a method to format the error message nicely for
the user.

This should fix the integration query engine test. I'm not exactly sure what caused the SEGFAULT to occur, but from my debugging sessions; I would say, as an educated guess that it's closely related to logger. What I believe happens is that logger gets somehow initialized from the dynamic_library when it's opened. And when the library is closed the corresponding logger is freed, but, other parts of memgraph still see that instance of logger and trying to use to emit code makes the whole thing crash. I've removed one include of logger from something which gets included in the hardcoded queries, but I noticed there are some more.
I've changed the dlopen to now open with DEEPBIND, which should cause symbols to be resolved locally and not globally and stop the logger from the dynamic lib to interfer with the one used in the rest of memgraph.
