建造机器人的比赛，实质竞争的是响应用户查询的自动化聊天技术，机器人比赛已经一路到达了奥巴马总统的家 —— 白宫。白宫在 10 月 14 号宣布开放其机器人代码，目的是为了使更加开放的合作与交流成为可能。

白宫早在 2009 年就首先用开源 Drupal 内容管理系统（CMS）【部署】【47】了自己的网站。从那时起白宫就已经成为了 Drupal 的积极贡献者，并以许多不同的方式做着贡献，包括在网站上发布可使用的开源代码。在开源项目中，白宫过去发布的是完整的 Drupal 主题，被称作‘fourtyfour’，目前用于 WhiteHouse.gov 网站。

现在，白宫最新 Facebook 信使机器人的完整代码可以从 GitHub 上获取，包括完整的安装指导和项目蓝图。围绕蓝图中大项目（列在‘增强和期望’下面）的主题是从实际上让项目更加独立，通过重构代码使项目模块化，从而让 Drupal 内容管理系统（CMS）外部可用。
